We're looking for a hands-on, goal-oriented leader to drive performance and fuel growth in our Small and Medium Business (SMB) segment. As the Sales Manager, SMB, you’ll be responsible for hitting targets, coaching the team, and turning strategy into action across products and territories.

This role is all about impact: building and refining sales processes, motivating your team, tracking results, and making sure we’re always pushing forward. Under the direction of the Vice President of Commercial Sales, the Sales Manager will work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to align execution with big-picture goals.  You will own the sales forecast and performance plan for your division.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead, coach, and motivate the SMB sales team to hit and exceed individual and team goals (55%)
    • Ride-a-longs with SMB Representatives to customer meetings for coaching and support
    • Performance management and performance appraisals for direct reports 
    • Accurate and timely approval of timesheets, time-off requests, and expenses 
    • Maintaining compliance with all company policies 
    • Ensuring all supervisory actions comply with applicable laws and regulations 
    • Facilitating regular individual and team meetings to discuss goals, progress, and challenges 
  • Create territory strategies and day-to-day sales plans that drive results by product line (10%)
  • Partner across departments to support sales ops, marketing campaigns, and customer engagement (10%)
  • Build and maintain a 3-month rolling forecast and track progress against quota (5%)
  • Use data to guide decisions, identify opportunities, and keep the team focused (5%)
  • Give feedback on competitive analysis, pricing strategy, and market trends (5%)
  • Own and manage the P&L for the SMB segment (5%)
  • Complete other duties as assigned (5%)

SCHEDULE AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Typical work hours are Monday through Friday, 8am - 5pm; however, may include evenings and weekends for special events and other meetings
  • Ability to travel to customer sites 50% of work week is required
  • Use of a Smithville company vehicle during business hours and trips
  • Indoors in a temperature-controlled environment (55%)
  • Outdoors in an enclosed vehicle or temporary shelter protected from extreme weather conditions (40%)
  • Outdoors exposed to changing weather conditions (5%)
  • Often using fine motor skills, sitting, walking, standing, vision (close, distance, depth), talking and hearing
  • Sometimes bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, reaching at or below shoulder level and above shoulder level, pulling and lifting up to 45 pounds

WHAT YOU NEED
  • High school diploma
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the telecommunications or adjacent industry
  • Minimum of 3 years as a business manager or relevant managerial role
  • Proven success in leading sales teams and driving revenue growth
  • Strong grasp of forecasting, planning, and sales execution
  • Ability to inspire action, hold teams accountable, and stay agile in a fast-moving environment
  • Experience working cross-functionally to align business goals and remove roadblocks
  • Proven experience with business and strategy development processes
  • Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record

The ideal candidate will meet the criteria above and have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or related field
  • Strong capabilities with database and information systems software
  • Previous data analysis experience
  • Proven ability with financial and budgetary processes
